The Danish Automobile Sports Union and Dansk Metal, "Young Mechanic of the Year" Award winner recently joined the YOKOHAMA Motorsports Support team for the race at WTCC Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Jannick Stoeckel, 22, was able to witness at first hand the frantic activity that goes on behind the scenes within the organisation and the racing teams prior to and on the actual race day. He also had the opportunity to get close to the YOKOHAMA specialists who supply all competitors at the FIA World Touring Car Championship with the Official tyre.

In addition to being kitted in YOKOHAMA Motorsports Team clothes, Jannick joined the free practice, qualifying and racing days and assisted at the service park. Technical explanations, briefings on the tyre compound and sound advice from the seasoned professionals were also provided to the award winner at the legendary track.

“We are very happy to support this annual award in Denmark and glad to be able to help provide this opportunity to a young person who is so passionate about Motorsports and cars. In addition to his recognised skills which have enabled him to win this award and which will continue to develop over time, we hope this experience will assist him further and add value to the training he has already undergone as part of his course.“ added David Oliva responsible for YOKOHAMA Europe communications and who was also in attendance at the weekend.

Jannick had been accompanied by top representatives of the Danish “Metal” Union, throughout the experience as well as by a training colleague Marc Rasmussen.
