YOKOHAMA Success at 83rd Auto Salon

The Japanese tyre manufacturer YOKOHAMA successfully concluded its participation at the 83rd edition of the International Auto salon, which closed yesterday evening in Geneva.

During the past couple of weeks YOKOHAMA exhibited its new flagship tyre, the “ADVAN Sport V105” tyre, after it was officially launched to the European market by the President and Representative Director of The YOKOHAMA Rubber Company Ltd., Mr Hikomitsu Noji on the 5th of March – First press day at Geneva. 

At a very well attended media launch Mr Noji, accompanied by a delegation of senior management and representatives from YOKOHAMA Europe and its European distributors explained the outstanding features of the tyre.   During the launch Mr Noji also provided an insight and technical explanation on the other new products now being offered by YOKOHAMA.

For its part the YOKOHAMA booth design focused on the ADVAN brand with its new Love Driving slogan and featured a Mercedes-Benz SL - the kind of premium vehicle the new ADVAN Sport V105 was designed for.  The ADVAN Sport V105 delivers all of the stability in the super high-speed range of its predecessor, the ADVAN Sport (V103), with further improved performance on wet and dry surfaces and braking. Quiet ride and a high level of comfort are finely balanced. The ADVAN Sport V105 MO is fitted as original equipment on A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, SLK-Class, SL-Class, and CLS-Class vehicles. The ADVAN Sport V105 is also equipped on the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake and the Audi RS6/RS7. The predecessor ADVAN Sport (V103) is fitted as original equipment on the Audi A6, A7 and Q7, the Porsche Cayenne and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG among others.

At Geneva, YOKOHAMA also presented its range of ADVAN tyres for passenger cars: the ADVAN Sport (V103), the ADVAN S.T. for sporty SUVs and the prototype extreme-grip tyre ADVAN NEOVA AD08R for street-sport cars.

The flagship of YOKOHAMA’s environmentally friendly tyre the BluEarth-1, as well as the standard eco-tyre BluEarth AE-01 and the GEOLANDAR SUV were also on display having been launched at the 2012 edition of the Geneva Auto Salon.

Throughout its participation at the Auto Salon, YOKOHAMA representatives were available to explain features and technical specifications of the different tyres to over 750,000 thousand visitors to the show.  Another highlight for the general public was the attendance of Miss YOKOHAMA, Debora Cordeiro who also introduced the comeback of Swiss driving hero Fredy Barth to the FIA World Touring Car Championship at his official competition car unveiling.
