FIA ERC Awards Gala in Paris

The FIA European Rally Championship paid tribute to the winners of the season, in all its categories at a Gala evening held at the Automobile Club de France in Paris. FIA President Jean Todt was among the dignitaries, drivers, sponsors, promoters and guests attending the occasion.

Commenting on the successful season, Production Category Champion Andreas Aigner who drove a Subaru Impreza STI R4 on YOKOHAMA tyres, accompanied by Barbara Watzl who has co-driven with him at several rallies this season, expressed delight with the great cooperation with Stohl racing, Subaru and YOKOHAMA throughout 2013.

“Finally when we are in Paris at this awards ceremony, I can say it was a really great year. It was a lot of fun and it was very competitive not just in our class but also in the overall classification.  We were quite far in front sometimes and it is not easy to do good times against the more powerful S2000 cars but we tried our best all the time and it was a great season.  There were many great rallies for us.” He stated.

When pressed to comment Aigner expressed hope that the next will also be a good year – “I am just looking forward to 2014, because this year was really, really good and also with Manfred Stohl and his racing team, the cooperation has been great. They did a super job, so I am looking forward to working together with them again and we are currently looking for some ERC project to continue” he added.
