ADAC GT Masters Keilwitz breaks record
01 Sep 2014

Fierce competition at the weekend’s ADAC GT Masters meant the option to go with Yokohama slicks on a rainy day paid off handsomely for the Corvette pair of Andreas Wirth and Daniel Keilwitz.

With a P17 starting point, they felt they needed a good gamble to give themselves some kind of chance.  Indeed the seemingly risky decision worked as they charged through the field overtaking on the drying Nurburgring.  The 12th win by Keilwitz makes the title defender the most successful driver ever in the Championship.

Second place went to Kelvin van der Linde and Rene Rast in the Audi R8 who were dominating in the early laps of the wet track and picked up valuable points to now lead the table with four races to go.

ADAC GT Masters debutant and former DTM driver Renger van der Zande and Maximilian Götz managed to take the final place in the podium with a meritorious third place.

Meanwhile in pursuit of the Gentlemen title, after three Corvette victories in recent races, Herbert Handlos managed his seventh win of the season in the Gentlemen class to return to his favourite position in the table.

Dominic Jöst and Florian Scholze in the Porsche 911 took 2nd place from fellow Porsche drivers Anton Wossos and Wolf Nathan .

The next GT Masters race weekend will take place at Sachsenring from the 19th -21st September 2014.
