Renato Travaglia achieved a new significant success last weekend at the “Trofeo Rally Terra”, winning the Sardinian Costa Smeralda Rally on YOKOHAMA tyres.  The driver who also won the previous races on a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 assisted by co-driver Giacomo Ciucci, confirmed himself on the first place of the TRT ranking and in the overall classification.

“It was a really tough rally” commented Travaglia at the end of the race, adding “we started first in free trials and found a really dirty terrain, with a lot of gravel that slowed us down. Even the scorching heat didn’t help us, we suffered but in the end we managed to win”.

Another YOKOHAMA driver, Gigi Ricci also managed to keep in the challenge. Competing the Championship with YOKOHAMA tyres he managed to overcome some technical issues with the car, Ford Fiesta R5, and placed himself in third position in the Dirt ranking, and fourth overall.

With two more stages for the championship, Renato Travaglia leads with 52,5 points while Gigi Ricci is in second place with 28 points and in joint third Mauro Trentin and Pablo Biolghini on 23 points.

The next stage of the Trofeo Rellay Terra will be held on the 20th and 21st September for the Rally “Adriatico”.
