1 millionth Tyre assembled at Hendricks plant
09 Feb 2015

As part of its logistics business the Hendricks Tyre assembly plant based in Leipzig, Germany, provides a fully automated mounting line which efficiently supports the automotive industry.  “We are working closely in partnership with the Premium manufacturers such as Porsche and Bentley at the moment” states Mr. Markus Strunk-Lingscheidt, a proud Plant Manager while he does a brief interlude in his intensive daily schedule.  “We just reached a significant milestone in our facility” he continues, whilst he points to a YOKOHAMA tyre.

“We recently assembled our 1 millionth tyre in our plant and it was a YOKOHAMA tyre – (ADVAN Sport V105 295/35 R21 107Y XL N-2). It brought all of us a great feeling of achievement and indeed some pride, too” he added whilst he paid tribute to the staff who have contributed throughout the time to make possible this part of the company history.   “We have around 80 staff in total in our facility and we worked truly as a team. Our appreciation also goes to YOKOHAMA as a very high quality tyre supplier and with whom we share a cordial and worthwhile relationship” he concluded.

Since 2013, the Japanese tyre manufacturer YOKOHAMA has been providing its products to Hendricks in support of its OE efforts to Premium car manufacturers.

The 1 millionth tyre will be mounted and displayed on a privileged location at the entrance to the plant as evidence of the company milestone and as an achievement worthy of recognition by all those visiting Hendricks in Leipzig.

For their part, a spokesman for YOKOHAMA expressed delight at the news and commented on the strong partnership they have developed with Hendricks and looks forward to the 2nd millionth tyre.
