YOKOHAMA Trophy going strong at WTCC
26 May 2015

Current leader of the YOKOHAMA Trophy, Zengo Motorsport’s Norbert Michelisz from Hungary, continues with his challenge to take the prestigious trophy amidst strong competition from Mehdi Bennani and Tom Chilton. With a small margin of only 3 points, separating first from the second, the Moscow Raceway at the beginning of June could indeed shed even more interest in the competition, if Tom Chilton also manages a good performance. Chilton is currently in 3rd place with a 9 point deficit from the Hungarian star.

The YOKOHAMA Trophy offers a significant prize money to non-works team drivers, which were formerly classed as privateers or independent drivers.  For this season YOKOHAMA, the Japanese Tyre Manufacturer who is also the exclusive tyre supplier to the FIA World Touring Car Championship, offers a total €240,000 as prize money. €20,000 is allocated for each event and all independent competitors are elligible for the trophy and financial reward.

The Championship resumes from the 5th to 7th at the Moscow Raceway, Russia.
