The first race of the prestigious Italian Rally series “Trofeo Rally Terra” was a big success for YOKOHAMA Italia and YOKOHAMA drivers who claimed the top positions.

Mauro Trentin, ably assisted by co-driver Alice de Marco, were very strong on the gravel of the “Rally dell’Adriatico” and managed the first place on the podium on a Peugeot 207 equipped with YOKOHAMA ADVAN A053.  The weather conditions had been changing and although mostly wet, Trentin took the wise decision to switch to ADVAN A036 as it became drier and hotter to enhance his performance and secure the top honours.

The second place was taken by Gigi Ricci on his Ford Fiesta R5. Ricci has been well supported throughout the years by YOKOHAMA Italia on his Ford Fiesta R5 and has always delivered very good results.

A third YOKOHAMA driver, who also took part and for the first time on YOKOHAMA tyres, Pablo Biolghini, also achieved a meritorious fourth place.

“I’m really satisfied with the debut of our drivers this year” claimed Giuseppe Pezzaioli, Motorsport Manager at YOKOHAMA Italia. “We have started the new season in great form and we hope that it will be an amazing season as the previous two. The cooperation with Gigi Ricci is still going strong and we’re also proud and happy to have a champion like Trentin with us.” Pezzaioli concluded.

The next race of the “Trofeo Rally Terra” will be on the 14th of July in Sardinia, one of the most popular races in the Italian racing Scene.
