FIA WTCC goes to Asia
10 Sep 2015

The FIA World Touring Car Championship travels to the land of the rising sun with the first round of the Asian races to be held this weekend at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan. The Championship which has the Japanese Tyre manufacturer YOKOHAMA as exclusive Tyre supplier, always receives a particularly warm welcome in Japan, and amongst its biggest fan is Dutch veteran driver Tom Coronel who has enjoyed very significant success in the country in the past, winning WTCC races in 2008, 2011 and 2013 and always states he is visiting his “second home”.

With the Citroën Racing team certainly dominant in the top places with López, Muller and Loeb enjoying a good margin ahead, the Honda team - in home soil will also want a strong performance from Tarquini currently 6th and Monteiro in 7th to catch up the lost ground. Expectations are very high indeed among all teams and drivers, not least from current YOKOHAMA Trophy leader Norbert Michelisz who is also 5th overall, five points behind the other Citroën driver Ma on 4th place.

YOKOHAMA Europe is currently offering WTCC fans around the world the opportunity to win an exclusive prize through its Facebook page. Below find more details on how to take part for the chance to win a YOKOHAMA prize which this month consists of a Motorsports calendar which has been signed by current YOKOHAMA Trophy leader Norbert Michelisz.
