Thrilling SEAT LEON Eurocup Racing at the Nürburgring

The legendary race track at the Nürburgring was the scene of intense motorsport racing at the weekend.  The SEAT LEON Eurocup Trophy, which is an International Series sanctioned by the FIA and boasts Japanese Tyre manufacturer YOKOHAMA as exclusive tyre supplier, demonstrated a very dominant Stian Paulsen. The Norwegian driver, set off the weekend in pole position in race 1 and conquered the rain and the opponents with a master performance with a lights to flag victory and his second win of the season, which now places him as leader of the Championship.

Mauricio Hernandez and Mikel Azcona also joined Paulsen in the podium in second and third respectively.

In the Ladies Trophy Andrina Gugger was 1st in the category and 9th overall. She is now second in the Ladies Trophy which is currently led by Lucille Cypriano with a significant margin.

Race 2 had the British driver Alexander Morgan securing his first victory in the SEAT LEON Eurocup. Mario Dablander fought well and came close to Morgan but in the end was unable to overtake him.  Third on the podium was Jordi Oriola who picked up valuable points too. This time Paulsen was not able to gain further advantage on the day.

With very different weather conditions from race 1, the sun settled in nicely at the Eifel and also delighted the fans in attendance.

The front wheel drive SEAT LEON cars are equipped with a turbocharged two-litre engine which delivers a maximum power of 330hp, also featuring a dual-clutch DSG six-speed gearbox, widely adjustable suspension and powerful competition brakes, plus an FIA homologated roll-over protection system.

2. Rossell 58pts

3. Azcona 50pts

The next races will be held in Monza, Italy on 3rd & 4th October.
