YOKOHAMA driver wins the Trofeo Rally Terra in Italy

YOKOHAMA Italy has announced victory in the prestigious Trofeo Rally Terra 2015. For the third consecutive year, YOKOHAMA tyres have been instrumental in support of the fantastic season of the newly crowned Champion, Mauro Trentin.

On a Peugeot 207 S2000 and well provided by YOKOHAMA Italy with the high performing rally tyres, Mauro Trentin has now achieved his second title in the TRT following his earlier title in 2008.

YOKOHAMA’s dominance on the rally dirt tracks has also enabled the popular Gigi Ricci to become runner up in the Championship after very good performances throughout 2015. Ricci has been driving a Ford Fiesta R5 and has been a member of the YOKOHAMA driver’s teams for many years.

The driver from Brescia, who was already Champion in 2013 with YOKOHAMA, and second in 2014 achieved the second place in the last race held over the past weekend in Costa Smeralda.

“We concluded a beautiful season with satisfaction” stated Giuseppe Pezzaioli, YOKOHAMA Italy’s Motorsport Manager. “We had a great pleasure having back Mauro Trentin with YOKOHAMA and we shared a very tough championship, that in the end has proved very worthwhile” he added, noting “We put in a lot of effort and YOKOHAMA has grown so much in the last championships that we must pay tribute not only to the drivers but also to the great work we are doing with the English and Japanese engineers supporting us.”
