Macau race to excite the FIA WTCC championship
14 Nov 2017

All is set for the FIA World Touring Car Championship legendary race of Macau which takes place at the weekend.  The Championship which boasts, the Japanese Tyre manufacturer YOKOHAMA as Official Tyre supplier, has seen the narrowing of the gap among the leaders following the Race of Japan.

With the notable exception of Honda’s Tiago Monteiro, unable to take part due to Doctor’s orders and his recovery period following an accident during a test in Barcelona earlier this year, the stakes are high and all other big names in the Championship are there, eager and waiting.

One of the outstanding names in contention for victory in Macau is the British Rob Huff, World Champion in 2012 and record holder having won 8 times in the Guia street circuit. In terms of Championship hopes, the current leader is Thed Bjork with a 16.5 point lead over the Hungarian Honda star Norbert Michelisz. The experience of the Hungarian at Macau could well be a decisive factor to catch up the small lead from the young Swedish driver. Closely following Michelisz is Bjork’s team mate, Nicky Catsburg, also with realistic chances and aiming for a podium finish.

The scene is set, and Macau will have the answer at the end of the weekend.
